It’s summer, which means it can be excruciatingly hot. What are you to go the next time you’re positively melting? Make an almond milk slushie.
This one from Detoxinista is so incredibly easy, vegan and includes maple syrup. I really don’t think you can go wrong with this one.
Almond Milk Slushie
Yield: 1 serving
- 1 cup chilled almond milk
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5-6 ice cubes
Combine all of the ingredients in a high-speed blender, and blend until a uniform slushie-like texture is achieved. Add more ice, if a thicker texture is desired, keeping in mind that additional ice will dilute the sweet vanilla flavor. (You can always add more maple syrup and vanilla, if you like.)
Pour into a large glass and enjoy with a spoon or a straw!
