Almond paste is used to make one of my favourite, mostly imported, treats: Marzipan! I don’t know how to make marzipan just yet, but a recipe to make the paste is a great start, don’t you think?
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 10 min. + chilling Makes 1 1/2 C
- 1 1/2 C blanched almonds
- 1 1/2 C confectioner’s sugar
- 1 egg white
- 1 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Place almonds in a food processor, cover and process until smooth.
Add the confectioners’ sugar, egg white, extract and salt; cover and process until smooth.
